Summary

MetalForge is a web app for generating SwiftUI Metal shaders. The editor runs entirely in your browser and your shader work is encoded in the URL — never sent to us. We only learn anything about you if you choose to sign in with Google or subscribe to Pro.

What we collect when you sign in with Google

When you click Continue with Google, Google asks you to consent to MetalForge receiving these basic profile fields:
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture URL

We store these fields in our database (Neon Postgres) so we can address you by name, show your avatar, and link your account to a Pro subscription. The signed-in state itself is held in a session cookie in your browser.

Payments and billing

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store them. From Stripe we receive a customer id, subscription id, subscription status, and current period end. We store these against your account so we know whether to unlock Pro features. To view invoices, change payment method, or cancel, we open Stripe's hosted billing portal.

What we collect otherwise

  • Nothing personal by default. Until you sign in we do not know who you are. No IP logging beyond what the host (Vercel) does for abuse prevention.
  • If you email us at hello@metalforge.xyz, we keep your email in our inbox like any other correspondence.

What we don't collect

  • The shaders or images you preview — they never leave your device.
  • Your card details — Stripe handles those, we never see them.
  • Cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Third-party trackers, pixels, or fingerprinting.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold on you, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop processing it, by emailing hello@metalforge.xyz. We will reply within a reasonable time.
