Cyclone
A vortex read through the skin of a ball. Two fbm fields build a slowly drifting warp, then the ball's own coordinate is spun by an angle that decays as a gaussian in the radius — tight at the eye, almost still at the limb — plus a constant rate, so the disc shears rather than turning. A five-octave fbm read in that spun frame, nudged sideways by the warp, ramps through four palette stops before a key light, a fill and the limb roll-off close it.
How it works
Cyclone is a real [[stitchable]] Metal shader, not a video or an image. It runs as a SwiftUI .colorEffect, so it paints any view you attach it to. You shape it with sliders in a live preview, then export the .metal file and the SwiftUI code that uses it, or the React Native and Web version. No MSL to write.
